The Annapurna Comfort Lodge Trek is especially designed for the first time visitor and families with young children or ones who are seeking much luxury on the trek than in normal standard lodge treks. This trekking trail is one of the most popular trekking routes in Nepal and is well developed with comfortable guesthouses with a good variety of foods. We have designed this itinerary to consist of 4-5 hours of easy walking each day. This programme is combined with sightseeing tours of Nepal’s capital city Kathmandu which has it's amazing history from many centuries, Visiting one of the most naturally beautiful cities of the world, Pokhara. Trekking one of most classic treks in the Annapurna region, Poon hill, which is one of the famous viewing points in the Annapurnas. You can see more than 30 peaks including the tenth highest peak in the world, Annapurna, eighth highest peak in the world Dhaulagiri and of course the world famous holy Fishtail Mountain, which in Nepalese is known as Machapuchare. 
This style of itinerary is designed to be pleasant and easy-going so that you and your family experience full enjoyment.

Outline Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrive at Kathmandu airport where you will be met by our representative and then transported to your first night's accommodation in Kathmandu’s popular tourist district of Thamel. 
DAY 2: Travel to Pokhara about 6-7 hours by bus (option: you can take the 30 minute flight instead) Have time for a relaxed evening of sightseeing around Lakeside.
DAY 3: Trekking preparation: Meeting your trekking staff and crew: Time for last minute gear purchases: Relax for the afternoon with some boating on Phewa Lake
DAY 4: Pokhara to Deurali: 2149m: 4 hours easy walking. 
DAY 5: Deurali to Jhinudada: 1750m ( hot springs): 5 hours easy walking. 
DAY 6: Jhinudada to Chhomrong: 2040m: 2 ½ hours walking 
DAY 7: Chhomrong to Ghandrung: 1770m: 5 hours walking
DAY 8: Ghandrung to Tadapani: 2720m: 4 hours walking
DAY 9: Tadapani to Gorepani: 2850m: 5 hours walking
DAY 10: Gorepani to Tirkhedhunga 
DAY 11: Tirkhedhunga to Pokhara 
DAY 12: Pokhara to Kathmandu
DAY 13: Kathmandu Sightseeing

You will be driven to the airport by our office staff/representative and bid farewell.


Accommodations
We will be accommodated in 3-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara; and teahouses during the trek. We will stay at Nirvana Hotel in Kathmandu and Snow Hill Lodge in Pokhara. All accommodations are on double-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional. Himalayan Wild Treks will arrange rooms with attached bathrooms with 24 hours running cold and hot water however, teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu, Pokhara and the trekking regions at lower elevation but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
This trek being a moderate of sort requires a good health of a person with ability to walk on the trail for at least five to seven hours carrying a light backpack. Walking at higher elevations require more physical stamina than at lower elevations but since this is an average route anyone with good health, willingness to walk and passion for travel can enjoy it. For the warm up, physical orientation needed for this elevation can be gained through various exercises that can be done prior to the commencement of the journey. In addition to the sound condition of heart, lung and entire setting of a body, past hiking experiences will be a plus point. Besides, it is advisable that those with any past health problems have to make sure that are medically able to walk on the trail. It is also advised that you inform Himalayan Wild Treks of any conditions before booking the trek.

Meals in Trekking 
Typical Nepalese food is the specialty we will relish on our journey in addition to the international cuisine that is Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian and so on. Breakfast and dinner will be provided according to menu that is in the lodge or a guest house. As for the lunch, it will be provided on the way to the next destination. All mealsincluding breakfast, lunch and dinner, will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners.

Best Time to Travel
As for the propitious seasons to carry out the trekking in the Annapurna Region, the suggestable time would be September to November and March to May. During these times, the visit will be showered with the arcane beauty of the nature and the outstanding landscape views. To avoid the traffic, you can choose any of the times from December to February. It is also to be informed that during the winter the temperature here goes down low that poses challenges to the travelers. Except for botanists, the trekking in this region in monsoon or summer that is from June to August can be impacted by the rain. 


What to Bring ?
The following checklist should help you with your packing. As a general rule, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. The packed weight of your trek bag while trekking should be no more than 15 KG.

  • Anti-diarrhea pills
  • Anti-headache pills
  • Cough and/or cold medicine
  • Anti-altitude sickness pills: Diamox or Acetylzolamide
  • Stomach antibiotic: Ciprofloxacin, etc.
  • Do not bring sleeping pills as they are a respiratory depressant.
  •  Water purification tablets or water filter

Outline Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrive at Kathmandu airport where you will be met by our representative and then transported to your first night's accommodation in Kathmandu’s popular tourist district of Thamel. After your arrival, you have a few hours to rest or go and explore Thamel before attending dinner and a briefing on the next day’s activities. 

DAY 2: Travel to Pokhara about 6-7 hours by bus (option: you can take the 30 minute flight instead) Have time for a relaxed evening of sightseeing around Lakeside.

DAY 3: Trekking preparation: Meeting your trekking staff and crew: Time for last minute gear purchases: Relax for the afternoon with some boating on Phewa Lake

DAY 4: Pokhara to Deurali: 2149m: 4 hours easy walking. 
Depart for trekking about 8am after breakfast with a 45 minute drive to the trekking start point at Lumle, which is already 1600m above sea level. Spectacular views of the Annapurna region and holy Fishtail are with you from the beginning. After about a one-hour up hill walk, you then have an easy walk through small villages and forest areas up to our night stop at Deurali. The Annapurna, Fishtail and other mountains are always ahead of you as you head to your teahouse or campsite through peaceful places in the middle of rhododendron forests full of orchids. This day and the following day are in the best section for bird watching in the Annapurna region with golden eagles often seen soaring above and the sound of bird song following you along the trail. 

DAY 5: Deurali to Jhinudada: 1750m ( hot springs): 5 hours easy walking. 
Today begins with a one hour downhill walk and an easy pleasant walk through villages and terraces. After crossing the suspension bridge at Modi Khola, you then have about a one hour up hill stretch to reach our second camp at Jhinudada. There are only five teahouses on the hill and a beautiful campsite with wonderful views of fishtail, South Annapurna, Hiunchull, and the peaceful sounds of Modi Khola. 

DAY 6: Jhinudada to Chhomrong: 2040m: 2 ½ hours walking 
A relaxing morning with a visit to the hot springs, an easy 15 minute downhill walk there and 30 minute walk back to the campsite following the Modi Khola you will enjoy the luxury of a hot bath with the peaceful sound of the mountain river, have time to spend a few hours wandering around in beautiful nature. After lunch we head to the Chhomrong village. It will take about 2 ½ hours with a steep climb. Chhomrong is the highest permanent settlement in this valley, with tremendous views of Annapurna south which seems to tower above the village and there are also good views of fishtail across the valley. This is the last village on the way to the Annapurna sanctuary trek and has a choice of campsites and teahouses with picture windows to capture the views. 

DAY 7: Chhomrong to Ghandrung: 1770m: 5 hours walking
Start today with a 30 minute easy walk with the trail dropping down to the river and up again, but the rest being a mostly downhill walk to Ghandrung with the path going through extensive terracing with a few villages crossing a huge landslide in one section. Ghandrung village at 1970m is second largest Gurung settlement in Nepal, and offers spectacular panoramic views, as well as offering you the opportunity to interact with the local traditional life styles and culture. There is a Gurung museum with traditional housing which is a great way to spend a couple of hours. A fabulous way to end the day here is to watch the wonderful golden sunset panorama from your window in the evening. 

DAY 8: Ghandrung to Tadapani: 2720m: 4 hours walking
This day is generally uphill walking through beautiful large rhododendrons covered with mosses and lichen, tree ferns and orchids growing on the larger trees. Along the trail you will find natural windows in the woods that look out on to the thrilling panoramas –towards the mountains and you will often see common langur, monkey and deer. There are a handful of teahouses and a campsite surrounded by a large rhododendron forest. Another nice place to have a wander in the forest with your guide to experience a peaceful connection with nature. Again enjoy spectacular views from your window. 

DAY 9: Tadapani to Gorepani: 2850m: 5 hours walking
Today’s walking will be similar to day 10 with most of it being through rhododendron forest. There will be a bit more up and down as you reach your altitude of 3200m with the last 30m being down hill to reach the campsite at Gorepani Duerali (pass) at 2850m. Here you will find a selection of hotels, shops and a campsite. The campsite is located between two hills, and it offers a great view of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Niligiri, Annapurna one, Annapurna south and Hiunchull tarke kang. This is the place for excellent views of the 8th and 10th highest mountains in the world. Gorepani Duerali is also at the junction of several trails leading north to the Jomson trek and on to Tibet, and is part of the ancient trade route between Nepal and Tibet. 
Time to retire to your teahouse to rest before the early morning excursion to Poon Hill. 

DAY 10: Gorepani to Tirkhedhunga 
Sunrise at Poon hill: 0530 start with a dawn walk to see the spectacular Himalayan sunrise view from Poon hill. This will be the absolute best view during this trek, and you will see at least 20 peaks including the 8th and 10th highest peaks in the world. See the sunrise change the mountains from white to gold. This is the high point for this trek and the altitude reached is 3210m. After sunrise, head back to camp and then set off down to Tikedungha. We will be heading down hill through rhododendron forests and arrive at Ulleri a prosperous Magar village at 2070m. After this the country opens up into a region of extensive terracing and the trail follows steep downhill stone stairs. This trail is busy with people, donkeys, horses and mules carrying supplies to Muktinath. Crossing a stream over a suspension bridge we will reach the location for your last night on this trek. This location offers a good choice of teahouses and a campsite with the sound of the river, views over the village, the terraced mountainside, and is a wonderful place to watch the local mule traffic pass to the sound of the neck bells. 

DAY 11: Tirkhedhunga to Pokhara 
Today for your final day’s trekking, you have a 3½ hour walk along the banks of the Bhurungdi Khola, with open views of rice terraces and walks though villages. The track continues to follow the river until it reaches a beautiful village set in the junction of two rivers. Cross a final suspension bridge over Modi Khola followed by about a 30-minute walk to Nayapul. We then catch a bus back to Pokhara, about 1½ hours away. You will notice that we pass our trek’s starting point on the way. 

DAY 12: Pokhara to Kathmandu
Driving back to Kathmandu takes about 6 hours with a couple of stops on the way. Arrive in Kathmandu and settle into your hotel followed by free time to explore or relax. Another option is to fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu which takes about 30 minutes and leaves more time to relax and the option to do a bit of sight seeing and shopping in Kathmandu.

DAY 13: Kathmandu Sightseeing
This day is half day sightseeing and souvenir shopping day and half day to relax and final preparation for your departure. You will visit around the local, markets, most popular sights of Nepal like Bhoudhanath & Pasupatinath.
Pashupatinath (crematory temple): Hindus holiest temple situated at the bank of Bagmanti River, 5 km away from the downtown of Kathmandu. Thousands of devotees converge here on an annual pilgrimage on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, the night of Lord Shiva falls in the month February. Entrance into the templeprecincts is permitted only for the Hindus but other can clearly see the temple and rituals beings performed inside from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river.The temple was listed in the UNESCO world Heritage Monument list in 1797.
Boudhhanath Stupa: Holiest Buddhist stupa of Nepal located at 6 km away from downtown Kathmandu. It was built in fifth century by Lichhavi king Karna Dev. It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating specimens of Stupa design. A huge statue of Lord Buddha is kept. Boudhanath a World Heritage Site is also known as Khasti.
There are more than 45 Buddhist monasteries in the area.

DAY 14: Kathmandu departure
You will be driven to the airport by our office staff/representative and bid farewell.
