A Magnificent adventure journey of Upper Mustang and Lo Manthang is located at northwest Himalayan range. The place is situated in between Tibetan plateau and Dhaulagiri- Annapurna Himalayan range inside mustang region of Nepal. Upper Mustang is a large high valley, arid and dry, characterized by eroded canyons, colorful stratified rock formations and has a barren, desert like appearance. One of the most interesting features of Mustang is hundreds of cliff dwellings, some of which look completely inaccessible. The most recent theory is that they may date 8-10,000 BC when Mustang was a much greener land. We Himalayan Wild Treks extends its best to improve this trip to Upper Mustang as the motor able road has been constructed during the last few years. We offer the best trekking part avoiding the road as possible, as the journey heads to the final destination at Lo Manthang the walled village since last 100-200 years.

The upper mustang and Lo manthang Trek with us begins after the windswept lower Mustang at Jomsom, the capital of the Mustang district but the real Tibetan style district lies north of Kagbeni and is usually known as Upper Mustang. Journey heads towards north meeting the Upper Mustang trail at Kagbeni. One day exploration of Upper mustang and Lo Manthang offers you to explore ancient gompas, cultural villages, highly diverse landscapes, spectacular Himalayan range. After having the wonderful time at Upper Mustang and Lo Manthang, the return journey heads back by other alternative route towards Muktinath a high pilgrimage spots for Hindus & Buddhist where the trail from Thorang-la meets and then finally back to Jomsom for the last final night in this charming windswept town Jomsom then scenic flight back to Pokhara.

Posted By Roy and Kathy B. I first met Ganesh on a trek to Island Peak, Everest Base Camp, circling back over the pass back to Luka with a group of people. The trek involved a mixture of tenting and a few tea houses. Ganesh not only guided through the trails, he climbed Island Peak with four of us. The trek and climb took several weeks and was organized without a hitch.
The second time two of us trekked to Mera Peak, climbed to the summit accompanied by Ganesh, then back over... Read More
