Trip overview
This is a camping trek to one of the remote areas of Nepal. The stunning mountain views of Kanchenjunga, Makalu with many others will completely mesmerize you.Walongchung bears all the outward sign of flourishing center of Buddhist. There is a large and lavishly furnished gompa (monastery) and the village is studded with chorten (stupa), mani walls and prayer wheels. The Bhutias of Upper Tamur practice much more orthodox pattern of Buddhist culture than any of the Lhomi communities of Arun valley. The people of Olangchung have had far more impact of Tibetan culture across the border than other areas.

The trek and climb took several weeks and was organized without a hitch.
The second time two of us trekked to Mera Peak, climbed to the summit accompanied by Ganesh, then back over... Read More
