Bardiya Jungle Safari
Bardiya Jungle Safari takes place in Bardiya National Park,which is a protected area in Neal. Bardiya National Park was established in 1988 that covers 968km2 of land. It is the most adulterated wilderness in Terai, adjoining hte eastern bank of Karnali river. Approximately 70% of the land is covered by Bardiya National Park. There are grassland, savannah, and riverine forest in the National Park Area, which is also a large home to approximately 642 faunal species and 126 fish species. There are gharials, crocodiles, reptiles and amphibians in the National Park. Some of the rarest animals like rhinocers, wild elephant, bengal tiger, swamp deer, gangetic dolphin , etc can be frequently spotted in the park.
There are elephnats, birds , rhinocers which are under the preservation of the government. There are currently 407 species of birds and Begnal florican , white rumped vulture, peafowl, bar-headeded geese, lesser florican, sarus crane, grey-crowned prinia, jungle prinia, pale footed warber , aberrant bush warbler, golden headed cisticola and chestnut-capped babbler to name a few. Bardiya National Park is a bit smaller than Chitawan National Park when it comes to size but it is less visited and more unadulterated National Park and it obviously offers better wilderness with only a few lodges or hotels. Canoing in Rapti and Narayani river is phenomenal while birdwatching , riding and elephant, in addition to the wide range of wildlife observation.
Bardiya National Park can be reachabe by bus. Even flights can be arranged. The National Park has been phenomenal to tourisits from across the world for its wilderness and rich ecosystem. There are about twenty two Bengal Tigers and over one hundred rhinocers, which can be occassionally seen in the park. Other animals found here are rhesus, macaques, leopards, civets, hyenas, sloth bears, barking deer and spotted deer. Gharial and marsh mugger crocodiles can also be witnessed in the region.River rafting, jeep drivingin, visit of the crocodile breeding center, Tharu village tour, elephant safari, hiking through the jungle and cultural programs are some of the major activities tourists enjoy in Bardiya National Park. The National Park is celebrated for its rich biodiversity.
