Chulu West Peak Climbing Trekking Highlights
Chulu West Peak Climbing involves sightseeing of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathamandu and a scenic mountain flight to Pokhara, a city of beautiful lakes. After spending a beautiful time, the trail meanders through Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. It is a very popular Peak Climbing Destination in the Annapurna Region, which is perfectly recommendable for the beginner climbers. Located between Chulu far west and Chulu Central, Chulu West Peak climbing also requires a good deal of acclimatization, a day off needed to adapt physically to the new climatic zone. First scaled by a Japanese in 1952, Chulu West also involves crossing of Thorong la Pass and Kali Gandaki Valley.
Chulu West Difficulty
There is no real technical difficulty in reaching summit. The procedure can be slow and time taking. First ascended by Japanese Expedition Team in 1952, Chulu West requires a good stamina and fitness level to climb. If you have a prior climbing experience, that would be appreciated. However, having the prior experience will hone your confidence to make it to the summit. Climbers of Chulu West are expected to have a prior konwledge regarding the proper usages of climbing gear such as ropes, harness, crampons, ice-axe and other appliaces. Chulu West is a part of bigger Damodar Himal Range of Manang in Western Nepal. A great amount of time is needed for acclimatization, which is indispensable to adapt to new climatic zones.
Chulu West Weather
Weather observatories update the daily weather of different peaks including Chulu West. However, the normal climatic overview of Chulu West remains almost constant throughout the year. The rainfall in the southern area of the Chulu West is higher than it is in the norhter part. June and July are the months which recieve the highest precipitation. It often snows at the elevation of two to three thousand meters. The snowline remains constant until the end of March and May at approximately above 43000 meters. Mid March to May in Spring and Mid September to November in Autumn are the best seasons to enjoy the adventure Chulu West offers.
