Dhampus- Ghandruk Trekking- 8 Days  is a low-altitude comfortable trekking, it is best suggested package for trekkers who have limited amount of time which they want to spend recreationally in the outskirts of modern settlements, in close touch with beautiful nature and diverse culture, mountain views, flora and fauna. Dhampus (1130m), settled by Gurung people, is located at North from Pokhara Valley (800m). Dampus is reputed for the exclusive view of Mount Machhapurchhre (6993) known in English as Fish Tail as its summit has forked like the tail of a fish. From Dhampus, we can also view Pokhara valley and other beautiful places in the proximity.

Ghandruk (2010m), that can be reachable from Birethati (1100m), is known as the Gateway to Annapurna Base Camp and it  is a famous Gurung settlement in the Annapurna Region. Ghandruk is an extraordinarily cherished tourist destination in Nepal and it offers the view of Annapurna Range including Machhapuchhre with ease and comfort. Ghandruk is home to a wide range of natural beauty, flora, fauna, traditional rustic settlements, and retired Gurkhas and it is a precious part of the Earth where natural and spiritual beauty seem to be aestheticallsy blended.

Dhampus- Ghandruk Trekking - 8 Days starts with a brief sightseeing  UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu prior to a drive or flight to Pokhara. (800m).  Continuing ahead, we drive to Phedi (843m), from where ascend to Dhampus (1130m) hiking through terraced fields and forested zone en route to Ghandruk (1940m) via Landrung (1628m). Then onwards, we follow the trail that meanders towards Birethati (1100m) via Nayapul (3510m) en route to Pokhara (800m), where the trekking ends.

Day 02: Drive west to Pokhara (215Km. /7 hours) by bus and than transfer to the Hotel. 
Day 03: Pokhara to Phedi and start trek to Dhampus.

Accommodations in Kathamandu and trekking
We will be accommodated in 3-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara; and teahouses during the trek. We will stay at Nirvana Hotel in Kathmandu and Snow Hill Lodge in Pokhara. All accommodations are on double-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional. Himalayan Wild Treks will arrange rooms with attached bathrooms with 24 hours running cold and hot water however, teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu, Pokhara and the trekking regions at lower elevation but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
This trek being a moderate of sort requires a good health of a person with ability to walk on the trail for at least five to seven hours carrying a light backpack. Walking at higher elevations require more physical stamina than at lower elevations but since this is an average route anyone with good health, willingness to walk and passion for travel can enjoy it. For the warm up, physical orientation needed for this elevation can be gained through various exercises that can be done prior to the commencement of the journey. In addition to the sound condition of heart, lung and entire setting of a body, past hiking experiences will be a plus point. Besides, it is advisable that those with any past health problems have to make sure that are medically able to walk on the trail. It is also advised that you inform Himalayan Wild Treks of any conditions before booking the trek.

 

Meals in Trekking 
Typical Nepalese food is the specialty we will relish on our journey in addition to the international cuisine that is Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian and so on. Breakfast and dinner will be provided according to menu that is in the lodge or a guest house. As for the lunch, it will be provided on the way to the next destination. All mealsincluding breakfast, lunch and dinner, will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners.

 

Best Time to Travel
As for the propitious seasons to carry out the trekking in the Annapurna Region, the suggestable time would be September to November and March to May. During these times, the visit will be showered with the arcane beauty of the nature and the outstanding landscape views. To avoid the traffic, you can choose any of the times from December to February. It is also to be informed that during the winter the temperature here goes down low that poses challenges to the travelers. Except for botanists, the trekking in this region in monsoon or summer that is from June to August can be impacted by the rain.

Sightseeing of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu initiates the trekking with a scenic flight to Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful valley where beautiful Phewa Lake ripples with a heavenly reflection of Mount Machhapuchhre, known as the Mount Fishtail. Dhampus, a rustic traditional settlement is a Gurung village where the warm hospitality they offer makes you feel at home. Additionally, Gurung stronghold Ghandruk village unveils an enchanting view of Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, and Machhapuchhre. Ghandruk museum known a Gurung Cultural Museum showcases traditional and cultural apparatuses related to Gurung community in the region. This trek offers a plethora of flora and fauna in the ridges forested with rhododendron and magnolia in the lower belt of Annapurna Region.

Outline Itinerary  
Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuban International Airport and pick up you by our private vehicle and transfer to the Hotel.
Day 02: Drive west to Pokhara (215Km. / 7 hours) by bus and than transfer to the Hotel. This morning you will be driving to Pokhara (215km), depart in the early morning, approximately 8 hrs away by tourist bus Absorb a scenic route through the country lanes. You will be arriving at Pokhara in late afternoon. Pokhara Lakeside villages sits, "front row centre" to one of the most beautiful Himalayan panoramas in the world. The Annapurna and famous "Fishtail" mountain peak of Machhapuchhare tower over the tropical setting of Pokhara and you spend there will be the scenic highlight of your trip. Enjoy yourself for the trek to Poon Hill in the evening. Overnight camp in Pokhara near the lake 
Day 03: Pokhara to Phedi and start trek to Dhampus. Leave Pokhara and travel by road to Suikhet Phedi, 20 KM drive 30 minutes away. From here, the trail ascends steeply through forest and later through paddy fields to the village of Damphus where you stay overnight in lodge. 
Day 04: Dhamphus/Landrung. (5100 feet and 5/6 hours walking) Today the trail goes along the ridge to Deurali. Descend through forest again for some time to the small villages of Tolka and Bheri Kharka. The trail then descends through scattered forests and villages to reach Landrung for overnight in lodge. 
Day 05: Landrung/Ghandrung. (6500 feet and 3 to 4 hours walking) The trail goes steeply down towards the river for an hour then there is a steep ascent for about 2-3 hours through scattered villages with beautiful views of the Himalayas. Eventually, reach Ghandrung, one of the largest Gurung settlements in Western Nepal. You can have good views of Gangapura, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Mount Annapurna and other snow-capped mountains. If time permits, visit the Annapurna Mountain Conservation Area Project (ACAP) headquarters, the local museum and the village. 
Day 06: Ghandrung/Birethanti/Nayapul/Pokhara. (3 hours walking) Today the trail descends to Sauli Bazaar for about two hours and then an easy walk for another hour to reach Birethanti after 45 minutes to Nayapul. From here, drive to Pokhara, about one hour away. 
Day 07: 7 hrs drive by tourist coach or 30 minutes fly back to Kathmandu and check in Hotel. Rest of the time for shopping 
Day 08: Final Departure to your country
