After an acclimatization at Namche, the trekking proceeds ahead  towards Gokyo Ri ( 5483m), a famous viewpoint  where you can vist glacial Gokyo Lake and majestic vista of the world’s highest peak Mount Everest(8,848m) including Makalu(8485m), Lhotse (8516m), and Cho Oyu(8201m). Trekkers even might like to visit Gokyo Lakes (5420m) that is truly mesmeric. Advancing forwards, the trekkers will hike ahead via Chola pass(5420m ) , from where trekkers can have a close up view of Mt. Everest and Lobuche (4930m), a picturesque settlement. As the trail  advances via Gorak Sep(5140) which  a small Himalayan Settlement encapsulated by world heritage site Sagarmatha National Park (6000m) that covers 124,400 hectares of the region and offers the rarest of the flora and fauna in the world.The trekking then continues towards Kalapathar(5545m), that is an ascent from Gorakshep (5140m). Kala patthar is a black rocky mountain that stands as a notable landmark that offers the most classic view of Mt. Everest. Thereafter the  trail continues towards Tengboche(3867m), from where trekkers can have a mesmerizing view of mountain like Nuptse (7861m), Everest(8848m), Lhotse(8516m), Thamserku (6623m) and Ama Dablam(6812m).

At the Everest Base Camp the temperature falls low from the mid December till the last of the January . At the summit the approximate temperature fluctuates around -37*C and at the base camp it is around – 17*C and as Chola Pass and Gokyo ri are compared, they have slightly lower but fluctuating temperature.

Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu

Accommodation in Kathmandu and Trekking
The team will take an accommodation in a three star hotel in Kathmandu. Nirvana Hotel will be the right choice for that matter, where the accommodations are available in double-shared basis. However, single supplement with slightly increased price can be provided depending on the demand of an individual. Himalayan Wild Treks can arrange rooms with attached bathrooms that have cold and hot water running 24/7 for shower and other purposes. However, there are teahouses that have shared washing and toilet arrangements during the trekking. Also, it is worth noting that single rooms are rare to find at higher elevations.


Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
This trek being a moderate of sort requires a good health of a person with ability to walk on the trail for at least five to seven hours carrying a light backpack. Walking at higher elevations require more physical stamina than at lower elevations but since this is an average route anyone with good health, willingness to walk and passion for travel can enjoy it. For the warm up, physical orientation needed for this elevation can be gained through various exercises that can be done prior to the commencement of the journey. In addition to the sound condition of heart, lung and entire setting of a body, past hiking experiences will be a plus point. Besides, it is advisable that those with any past health problems have to make sure that are medically able to walk on the trail. It is also advised that you inform Himalayan Wild Treks of any conditions before booking the trek.


Meals in Gokyo Ri, Chola Pass, Everest Base Camp Trekking
Typical Nepalese food is the specialty we will relish on our journey in addition to the international cuisine that is Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian and so on. Breakfast and dinner will be provided according to menu that is in the lodge or a guest house. As for the lunch, it will be provided on the way to the next destination. All meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner, will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners.


Best Time to Travel Gokyo Ri, Chola Pass, Everest Base Camp Trekking
As for the propitious seasons to carry out the trekking in the Everest Region, the suggestable time would be September to November and March to May. During these times, the visit will be showered with the arcane beauty of the nature and the outstanding landscape views. To avoid the traffic, you can choose any of the times from December to February. It is also to be informed that during the winter the temperature here goes down low that poses challenges to the travelers. Except for botanists, the trekking in this region in monsoon or summer that is from June to August can be impacted by the rain.

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu

You will touch down in Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. Our staffs will come to pick you up. Thereafter you will be driven to your hotel.

Day 02 : Sightseeing and preparation for the trekking
On this day you will be driving around Kathmandu Valley. You will be enjoying sightseeing of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Thereafter, if you have a spare time, you can do shopping and take a short walk around the city.

Day 03 : Flight to Lukla and hiking to Phakding
You will have a scenic flight to Lukla(2860m) from Kathmandu

The flight takes about forty minutes. On the same day, you will trek to Phakding(2652m), which is three to four hours walking distance from Lukla.

Day 04 : Trekking to Namche Bazar(3440m) from Phakding(2652m)
Namche Bazar doesn't need an introduction as it is a world-famous Sherpa settlement. Namche Bazar is also known as the Gateway to Everest(8848m), the top of the world.

Day 05 : Acclimatization day at Namche Bazar.
On this day, you will take a hike around for the physical adaptation to the altitude. You will hike up to the Hotel Everest View and return. In addition, you can also do shopping on this day.

Day 06 : On this day you will set for Phortse Tanga (3810m) from Namche
Located at 3810 meters Phortse Tanga is about five to six hours from Namche. You leave behind way to Gokyo, while enjoying beautiful view of beautiful Amadablam and other mountain views.

Day 07 : Hiking from Phortse Tanga to Dole (4200m)
On this day, you will hike up to Dole(4200m) from Phortse Tanga. The walk may consists of four to five hours for physically fit hikers. There is a river that has to be crossed. Waterfalls rushing through ice-clad hills mesmerize you. The day can be windy and relatively colder as you are gaining altitude.

Day 08 : Hiking from Dole to Machhermo (4470m)
On this day, you will hike from Dole to Machhermo which takes you about four to five hours. On the way you will enjoy the view of sky-touching mountians, beautiful settlements and yaks grazing. Mountains hanging over the clouds will take your breath away. Prayer flags that flutter in the wind dances to the music of your heart.

Day 09 : Hiking from Machhermo, arriving at Gokyo(4800m)
As you hikd to Gokyo from Machhermo, you will come across glacial rivers. There are plenty of mountain views and beautifully carved mani stones with prayer flags fluttering over. It will take you about five to six hours to arrive at Gokyo. Glistening mountain views including Mt. Everest above Gokyo Lake is spectacular beyond words.

Day 10 : Climbing Gokyo Ri from Gokyo Valley - Hike to fifth lakes
We climb Gokyo Ri from Gokyo Valley followed by a hiking to fith lakes. The entire hiking takes approximately five to six hours. The view of the glaciers and mountains from Gokyo Ri is indescribably spectacular. The visit to fifth lakes leaves indelible imprint in the minds.

Day 11 : Hiking from Gokyo to Thangnak(4950m)
On this day, we retrace to Thangnak from Gokyo Ri which will take you approximately three to four hours. Situated at 490m, Thangnak has a paraphernalia of natural gifts to offer in terms of scenery and altitude.

Day 12 : Hiking from Thangnak to Dzong La(4830m) via Cho La Pass Crossing Cho La Pass is today's highlight. There are icy sections on the way. Even Chola Pass has to be crossed glacier and the paths are paved with loose pieces of stone. Be careful while walking. It might take us approximately six to seven hours to arrive at Dzongla.

Day 13 : Dzongla to Lobuche (4920m)
The path is very short and easy as the trail is straight. A way that leads from Dingboche touches our Path as we are close to Lobuche. Today's walk will be no longer than three to four hours because the most part of the trail is horizontal.

Day 14 : Hiking from Lobuche to Gorak Sep
The path proceeds horizontally straight. While walking past Khumbu glacier we can see Nuptse, Pumori, Kala Pathar in the Khumbu mountain range. It will take us about four hours. This is the last settlement in the entire course of trekking to EBC. Early in the morning We wake up at Lobuche, go to Everest Base Camp and return to Gorak Sep.

Day 15 :  Kala Pathhar early in the morning and descend to Dingboche. On this day, you will devour the full-fledged view of  Mt. Everest from the closest distace. It seems as if you are able to touch the Everest which is actually miles away. The excitement of the return is in the air.

Day 16 : Hiking from Tengboche to Monjo (2835m)
On this day, we head to Tengboche (3900m) from Dingboche which takes about five hours of walk. On the trail, you will enjoy the beautiful views of mountains, pastures and settlements. Yaks purchasing goods can be encountered on the trail.

Day 17 : Hiking from Monjo to Lukla (2860m)
On this day, we will take a path to Lukla from Monjo. The distance from Lukla to Monjo is about thirteen kilometers and it might take us four to five hours to cover the entire distance. Both Monjo and Lukla are strikingly beautiful Sherpa settlements in Solukhumbu.

Day 18 : Return to Kathmandu from Lukla
After a celebratory ending of the trekking at a beautiful city Lukla, we take off Tenzing Hillary Airport for Kathmandu the next morning.

Day 19 : Departure
This is your departure day. You will fly off to your homeland with the beautiful memories from the trekking.
