Do I need to have prior experiences?
You don't really need to be a veteran or experienced mountain climber to set your foot on the summit of Island Peak (Imja Tse). Unless you are excessively obese or have some physical impairment, Island Peak climbing can be done without prior experience or skills regarding the use of climbing gear. They will provide you with crampons, ropes, carabiner, screw, main or leading ropes, harness, ice-axe, snow anchor and other climbing appliances.
Detailed Itinearary
Day 01- You will arrive at Chhukung elevated at 4749m. Chhukung can be reached out either crossing Kongma La Pass or hiking through Dingboche as per your itinerary. Relying on the information exchanged between us, our staff will meet you at your lodge in Chhukung.
Day 02- Being led by our staff, you will hike up to Island Peak Base Camp, which takes you approximately three hours. At Island Peak Base Camp (5200m), our mountain and peak climbing guide will coach you to properly use the climbing gear for about two hours.
Day 03- This is a historic day, on which we set foot on the top of world famous Island Peak and make it all the way back to Island Peak Base Camp. If it turns out that the weather is not that supportive, you can stay at the Base Camp overnight and get back to Chhukung the next morning.
