Kali Gandaki-Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek- 16 Days requires moderate level of fitness. This trekking certainly proves to be literally memorable. Kaligandaki, known as the deepest canyon in the world (5571m) demarcates the main peaks of Dhaulagiri (8167m) on the west and Annapurna (8091m) on the east. Kaligandaki is also renown for Shaligram fossils, venerated as an inanimate form of the Lord Vishnu. Kaligandaki flows through Mustang, Lomanthang, Kagbeni, Jomsom, Marpha and Beni. Ghorepani(2750m) is a Gurung settlement naturally decorated with rhododendron, lying in Annapurna Conservation Area, which offers a morning hike to Poon Hill(3193m) from where the trekkers can enjoy a crystal clear view of Dhaulagiri(8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapuran II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Gangapurna (7455m), Manaslu(8156m), Lamjung Himal (6983m), Annapurna South (7219m) and many other peaks. Known as the photographer’s paradise this trekking renders a substantial range of flora, fauna, culture and captivating views.

Kali Gandaki- Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek- 16 Days technically starts with a brief sigtseeing of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu valley (1400m) prior to a bus drive or a flight to a Pokhara (800m) the following day. En route to Ghorepani (2750m), the trail winds through Nayapul (1070m) and Tikhedunga (1577). Ghorepani is associated with a legend : the ancient traders found water (pani) for their horse (ghoda) here, which eventually led to  nomenclature– Ghorepani. At the dawn an ascend to Poon Hill (3193m) offers the profoundly surrealistic view of sunrise and enigmatic pink glow landed on Dhaulagiri and Tukuche Peak. Thereafter, the trail continues to Sikha (1920m),Tatopani (1179m),Ghasa (2013m), Larnung (2543m), Marpha (2676m), Kaligandaki(2520m), Muktinath (3802m), Jomsom (2713m), then flight to Pokhara where the trekking ends.

Day 01:
 Arrival in kathmandu 1334m, transfer to hotel
Day 02: Katmandu to pokhara (915m) by flight 35 minuts or tourist bus 5/6 hours overnight at pokhara.
Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Hile/Tikhedunga (1577m) 
Day 04: Hile/Tikhedunga trek to Ghorepani (2810m)  5-6 hours
Day 05: Hike up to Poon Hill 3210m and continue trek to Shikha (1920m).4-5 hours
Day 06: Shikha trek to Tatopani/Hot spring (1179m) 4-5hours
Day 07: Tatopani trek to Ghasa (2013m) 5-6 hours
Day 08: Ghasa trek to Larjung (2543m)  5-6 hours
Day 09: Larjung trek to Marpha (2676m)  5-6 hours
Day 10: Marpha trek to Eklebhatti (2832m) & make excursion in around Kali Gandaki river 5-6 hours
Day 11: Kagbeni trek to Muktinath Temple (3802m) 3-4hours

Accommodation for Kaligandaki, Gorepani Poonhill Trekking
We will be accommodated in 3-star hotels in Kathmandu. We will stay at Nirvana Hotel in Kathmandu and All accommodations are on double-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional. Himalayan Wild Treks will arrange rooms with attached bathrooms with 24 hours running cold and hot water however in the case of Kathmandu, teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities during the trekking. Also note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu, and the trekking regions at lower elevation but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.


Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
This trek being a moderate of sort requires a good health of a person with ability to walk on the trail for at least five to seven hours carrying a light backpack. Walking at higher elevations require more physical stamina than at lower elevations but since this is an average route anyone with good health, willingness to walk and passion for travel can enjoy it. For the warm up, physical orientation needed for this elevation can be gained through various exercises that can be done prior to the commencement of the journey. In addition to the sound condition of heart, lung and entire setting of a body, past hiking experiences will be a plus point. Besides, it is advisable that those with any past health problems have to make sure that are medically able to walk on the trail. It is also advised that you inform Himalayan Wild Treks of any conditions before booking the trek.


Meals in Trekking 
Typical Nepalese food is the specialty we will relish on our journey in addition to the international cuisine that is Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian and so on. Breakfast and dinner will be provided according to menu that is in the lodge or a guest house. As for the lunch, it will be provided on the way to the next destination. All mealsincluding breakfast, lunch and dinner, will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners.


Best Time to Travel
As for the propitious seasons to carry out the trekking in the Annapurna Region, the suggestable time would be September to November and March to May. During these times, the visit will be showered with the arcane beauty of the nature and the outstanding landscape views. To avoid the traffic, you can choose any of the times from December to February. It is also to be informed that during the winter the temperature here goes down low that poses challenges to the travelers. Except for botanists, the trekking in this region in monsoon or summer that is from June to August can be impacted by the rain.

Day 04: Hile/Tikhedunga trek to Ghorepani (2810m) walk approximately 5-6 hours

Day 05: Early in the morning hike to Poon Hill 3210m for superb Himalayan scenery including the Dhaulagiri 8167m, Nilgiri 7041m, Fishtail/Machhapuchhare 6998m, Annapurna I 8091m, Annapurna II 7939m , Annapurna III7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m, Annapurna south 7219m, Hiunchuli 6441m, Lamjung Himal 6986m,Tukuche peak 6920m etc , breakfast at ghorepani and continue trek to Shikha (1920m).walk approximately 4 hours

Day 06: Shikha trek to Tatopani/Hot spring (1179m)walk approximately 4-5hours

Day 07: Tatopani trek to Ghasa (2013m)walk approximately 5-6 hours

Day 08: Ghasa trek to Larjung (2543m) walk approximately 5-6 hours

Day 09: Larjung trek to Marpha (2676m) walk approximately 5-6 hours

Day 15: After breakfast , our tour guide will take to you sightseeing such as :Boudhhanath: visit Bodhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa than visit Pashupatinath: the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here you see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats. Kathmandu durbar square: you will enjoy with different Hindus Temple , Goddes Kumari, legend of kathmadu valley etc. transfer to hotel and in the evening farewell dinner in Nepalese restaurant . Overnight at Kathmandu
