Mt. Baruntse Expedition
Mt. Baruntse Expedition includes the ascent of Mount Baruntse (7129m) that was first climbed by New Zealanders : Colin Todd and Geof Harrow in May 30,1954 via South ridge from an expedition that was led by Sir Edmund Hillary. Mount Baruntse stands at the midpoint of Hinku, Barun and Imja, the peak of which offers stunning view of Lhotse, Everest, and Makalu. The permit cost for Baruntse Expedition for Spring is USD $500 with USD $250 for Autumn and USD $125 for Summer and Winter. Baruntse Expedition cost varies agency to agency. Most of the local and international agencies have common margin falling between USD $11000 and USD $15000 for Mt. Baruntse Expedition while Himalayan Wild Treks has limited it to USD $8000 for the same. In addition, Himalayan Wild Treks offers the updated Mt. The expedition comprises of icy chutes at approximately fifty degrees and the icy sections at six thousand and five hundred meters makes the Baruntse quite challenging peak. Therefore the climbers are expected to have basic mountaineering skills and experience. The carefully designed itinerary provides enough flexibility to the climbers along with the opportunity of the mountaineering training given by our professional Sherpa mountaineers. The camp that is set up at five thousand meters will have our professional trekking cooks who prepare hygienic food while the veteran Sherpa experts fix the ropes before the actual ascent of the peak at 6000m elevation. Moreover, we provide medical stall with comprehensive medical kit, portable altitude chamber, satellite phone and walkie- talkie for the members.

The expedition commences with a brief sightseeing of the major UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu(1400) while having formalities and paperwork done that is followed by a flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport at Lukla(2860m). Then the trail leads us to Chutok(2800m) –Pangkongma (2950m) –Karke(3800m) –Thuli Kharka (4200m) –Kothey(3600m) –Tangnag (4350m) –Khare (4900m) –Mera La(5415m) –Mera Base Camp(5300m) –Mera High Camp (5800m) –Summit Mera Peak(6476m) which enhances us with better ability to climb Mt. Baruntse. Then we traverse to  Baruntse  Base Camp(7129m) where we shall have an acclimatization followed by the climbing of Mt. Baruntse which can be accomplished in a week or ten days, depending on dexterity and ability of the team. After the successful victory over Mt. Baruntse (7129m), we trace back to Seto Pokhari (2842m) –Mera Peak Base Camp(6476m) –Kothey (3600m) –Thuli Kharka (4200m) en route to Lukla(2860m) where the expedition wraps up followed by flight back to Kathmandu.
