Mt. Cho Oyu Expedition

Mt. Cho Oyu Expedition offers the thrilling accent of Cho Oyu (8201m) sixth highest mountain in the world, which stands at the border that dissects Nepal and Tibet. Cho Oyu which means “Turquoise Goddess” In Tibetan language, was first climbed by Herbert Tichy, Joseph Jolcher and Sherpa Pasang Dawa Lama of an Austrian Expedition. Accent of the mountain is relatively easy from the Tibet side because Nepal side poses technical complexity that comes with extreme lopes and hostile glaciers. The permit cost set by Nepal Mountaineering Association for Cho Oyu is USD $1800 for Spring, USD $900 for Autumn and USD $450 for Winter and Summer. In addition, Himalayan Wild Treks offers clients friendly flexible Cho Oyu Expedition Itinerary and Cho Oyu Expedition Google Map.

Buddhist religious ceremony is carried out before the accent. On the way from ABC to Camp I, we pass through rocky slope of 40 to 45 degree angle en route to Mala Tang . After reaching Camp 1, there is a vertical ice cliff for a while to rest. Passing through 40 degree feet ice cliff, the legendary cliff on the way to camp 2 from where the neighboring mountains start appearing really low. The summit from Camp 3 is carried out in the dark with a headlight. And early next morning, the team will reach to summit of Choyu. Choyu is probably the easiest eight thousander to climb and the summit of the mountain is flat that gives a distant view of Mt. Everest with Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Nuptse. Climbing of Cho Oyu also qualifies the mountaineers for the higher peaks including Mt. Everest (8848m).

After the team gets picked up from the airport in Kathmandu, they will be driven to hotel . The following day will be spent in formal paperwork and sightseeing of the major UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Then the team will drive to Kodari and move to Zhangmu (2300m) en route to Nylam (2750m) where an acclimatization will be taken. Thereafter the team will  head to Chinese Base camp(4700m) from there we move to Advance Base Camp(ABC) en route to Base Camp and Middle Camp to climb Cho Oyu.
