Ganesh Himal Expedition
Ganesh Himal Expedition includes climbing of Ganesh Himal (7440m)which stands at the Northwest of Kathmandu Valley and East to Langtang Mountain Range. Franco-Swiss Expedition Team first climbed Ganesh Himal via Southeast ridge in 1955. Ganesh Himal is also known as Yangra, which is accessible via Tamang Heritage Trail that meanders through verdant forests, traditional suburbs and unique topography. The permit cost fixed by Nepal Mountaineering Association for Ganesh Himal is USD $500 for Spring, USD $250 for Autumn and USD $125 for Summer and Winter. Ganesh Himal Expedition cost differs agency to agency. Gahesh Himal climbing involves structural technicalities including icy and rocky slopes all the way to summit from where one can view Tibetan plateau to the North as the Ganesh Himal range stands at the borderline shared by Nepal and Tibet. The technical segments of the climb requires basic mountaineering skills of crampons, harness, carabineer, ice-axe and rope et cetera. Our mountain guides get the new strong ropes fixed up until the summit prior to the actual climb. Ganesh Himal is more suggestible to the climbers of experienced category who have fundamental technical climbing skills and idea. The acclimatization and homework session that get conducted on the Base Camp and High Camp before the last two camps will be contributory to the enhancement of the climbing skills of the mountaineers. After the team is picked up at the Kathmandu Airport (1400m), they will be driven to the hotel and following day will be spent iin paperwork formalities including sightseeing of the major UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley. Then the team will drive to Syabru Besi (1420m from where the trail leads us to Paragaon(1543m) –Garthali(1678m) –Kalo Tuppa (3542m) –Thanjung Kharka (4323m) –Sangung Kharka (5000m) –Ganesh Himal Base Camp (6453m)– High Camp (6500m) en route to summit of Ganesh Himal. After the successful climb of Ganesh Himal, we trace back to Syabru Besi following the same trail from where a bus drive to Kathmandu brings the expedition to an end.
