Mt. Manaslu Expedition Camp 1 at 5700m sets foundation of the climb at the base of the North Peak. Camp 2 is located at 6400m offers relatively flat topography. There may be a great deal of snow at the campsite. The Camp 3 at 6800m is the shortest which only takes three hours from Camp 2. After Camp 3, the heavy and strong wind can make the climb more challenging and adventurous. Camp 4 at 7400m from Camp 3 includes a lot of steep sections. The final summit push from Camp 4 might take approximately eight hours.
Known as ‘Kutung’ in Tibetan language, this peak lies about 64 km east of Mount Annapurna. Officially introduced in 1991, Manaslu Expedition is comparatively more technical that Cho Oyu and Shisha Pangma. Long serrated icy segments are there in each direction making it feasible from every direction to climb the mountain. The summit of the Manaslu Mountain is seen standing distinctly above all the neighboring mountains. The mountain, certainly offers least trodden segments that are technically adventurous and challenging requiring the climbers to have prior climbing experiences with certain fitness level.
The Mt. Manaslu Expedition starts with sightseeinf of UNESCO World Heritage Sites along with paperwork in Kathmandu. The team will drive to Aarughat (1800m) via Dhading (1950m) then traverse to Sotikhola (730m)– Machhakhola (930m) –Jagat (1300m) –Ukawa (1650m), Nyak(1890m) –Namrung (2660m) -Syalla (3980m) -Sama Village (4600m) then we climb the peak taking 26 days. After that, we trace back to Manaslu Base Camp(4800m)– Namrung (2660m) -Phidim Village(3675m) -Machhakhola (930m) - Soti(730m) -Arughat (1800m) from where drive back to Kathmandu puts an end to the the expedition.
