Mundum Trail, Mundum Trek is governmentally introduced off-beaten trail in 2018 in the  far East- Northern part of Nepal. The trekking initiates with approximately twelve hours bus ride to Diktel (1650m) in Khotang from Kathmandu (1400m). Himalayan Wild Treks Pvt. Ltd offers the most reasonable price, latest updated google map and client-oriented flexible itinerary for Mundum Trail, which is also called “a ridge trail” as the trekkers have to walk on the ridges enjoying the vistas of snow-capped mountain chains and eye-catching pastures and beautiful terrains on the sides. As a freshly started route, this trail is literally off– the– beaten, where trekkers can enjoy the hike leaving footsteps through grasslands, wilderness and pastures with the heart-touching sunrises in the mornings and crimson sunsets in the evenings. Camping on the trail is required since lodges and hotels are not found in the wilderness.

After an arrival at Diktel (1650) by bus, the trail meanders  ahead en route to Chakhewa (2300m), Dhotre (2752m) Maiyung (3122m),Rawadhap (3426),the second best view point after Silichho (4156m), Salpa Bhanjyag (3348), locally known as Kulupongkho, from where trekkers ascend to Silichho Peak (4156m) early in the morning, leaving aside the  pristine Salpa Pokhari(2500), a holy lake with a religious significance. Silichho offers clear view of Mt Everest(8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), Mera(6476m), Chamlang (7319m), Numbur (6958m), Makalu (8481m), Chalachuli (3636), and Kanchenjunga Range (8586m) and more than 22 other peaks. Both Salpa Lake and Silichho peak are known for their religious significance as they are believed to be holy in Kirat Community.

After a thrilling ascend of Silichho peak, where trekkers enjoy the view of mountain chains, the trail traces back to Hans Pokhari en route to Suntale and Bhojpur(1600), the ending point of the epic cultural ridge trek named as Mundum Trail. From Bhojpur trekkers take a flight back to Kathandu. However, trekkers are free to take option of taking flight to Kathmandu from Tumlingtar Airport descending from Salpa Bhanjyang (3348m) via Salpa Phedi(1680m), Chewa Besi (285m) to Tumlingtar (285m). On the other hand, the trekkers also can take alternative route to Mahakulung (1900m) known as combination of three beautiful villages named Gudel, Bung and Chheskam via Sanam (2850m), a picturesque Sherpa village. The trekkers can have bus transportation operating from Mahakulung to Kathmandu, which takes twelve hours tentatively.
